Hot off the press . Literally We just received delivery of 2000 children's books called Nathaniel's Journey that has been translated into Vietnamese. It is the first quality children's book that we are aware of in Vietnam. This is the story of a young "critter" named Nathaniel and his quest to meet the King. Like "The Pilgrim's Progress," "Nathaniel's Journey" teaches spiritual truths in the form of a story. We have partnered with a missionary in Vietnam who had the book translated, and helped to raise funds to have them printed. Many thanks to all who helped raise funds for this. We have 21 boxes in our store and now need help to bring them all in - any offers? |

China ~ a land ready to hear the good news In March, 7 of us went again to distribute packages to some Bai minority villages in south-western China. We spent five days hiking through the villages and were able to distribute over 400 packages. It is such a joy to spread the word where it has not been heard before! I truly believe that every person on this earth has an inbuilt knowledge in their spirit of God and will never be satisfied until they find Him. This is true for China as well as the West. Let me explain: On
hiking through one of the villages, we stopped and watched as the family
prepared their blood sacrifice. In a matter of days the Ching Ming festival
(the festival of the hungry ghosts) would begin. The Buddhists believe
that at this time those ancestor spirits who have not been cared for
will come back to roam the earth. In order to please these spirits,
they must give sacrifices and offerings. The chicken was duly bled and
then scarificed - the blood used to make peace with the spirit world. We left some packets in their village. Pray they will see the truth and be set free! |

Orphanage building starts We are rejoicing that a church in England has agreed to raise the money and partner with a Vietnamese church (and very good friends of ours), in building a new orphanage! The building has already begun, and waiting for the first set of approvals from the government. It is projected to be finished by the end of October. We are praying that God will handpick the children who will be taken into the house, and there are several under consideration already. How do you choose when there are SO many distressing situations? We trust that those who live in this house will grow up to be men and women of God! |

26 Bible School Students Last month we received a team of 26 students from Christ For the Nations Bible School in Dallas, Texas. The team flew directly into Vietnam from Hong Kong, and brought a HUGE load of Bibles, tracts, cassette tapes, children's comic books, and minority picture books, as well as lots of clothing, medicine and toys! All of the literature was distributed among several different underground networks, and the clothing was delivered to several ministries who work with children. During their one week in Vietnam, the team conducted the following:
One day was spent at a swimming pool/recreation complex with a group of 50 very poor children, and following one of the skits performed by the team, 22 children accepted the Lord! |

The RATS! The girls (fondly called Rats in Asia - R And T Serving in Asia) are doing great and loving living in Asia! They have settled into a new apartment, and yes, they have even learned to get around on a motorbike - just like the locals! God has opened up a wide door for them with a large underground church that has a dynamic youth group, and they were able to arrange the whole conference for 50 youth leaders for the CFNI team! We are so blessed to have these young, energetic additions to our team! Again we want to thank all of our faithful partners who are so consistent in your giving, prayer and encouragement. We need you! We are humbled by your faithfulness to us, and know that you will have many eternal rewards. There is a great harvest of fruit that you can't see with your natural eyes, but you will reap the rewards in heaven! Be encouraged that God is using you! |
